Traditional Authority (TA)  Mwabulambya is found at the heart of Chitipa district,  the TA  hails from the Nyondo clan and has his headquarters at Chanukah. The main tribe in TA Ulambya is Lambya and minor tribes such as Namwanga, Ŵandia, Mambwe, Swahili (coming with intermarriages), Bemba, Senga, Chewa. TA Mwalumbya has the largest enumerated population distribution with 16245 households and 84,474 total population.  Subordinate to him, is sub-TA Mwakabanga and a number of group village headmen as listed below
